The challenge? Design 300 new apartments in such a way that they are suitable for different households. Appearance & interior are in line with the principles of the Corendon Plaza renovation project: industrial, rural and a touch of cosmopolitan.

The Apartments and Plaza buildings – a renovation project of the old Sony building near Schiphol Airport – are part of Corendon Village. We provide the interior design for the 300 new apartments, together with Corendon Hotels & Resorts Development. The apartments combine the luxury of a hotel with the privacy of a private home. Ideal for expats, long stays or a week out with the family.

Look & feel

The apartments are built like a loft, inspired by the cosmopolitan character of the nearby Schiphol Airport. Living room, kitchen, workplace and sleeping area merge smoothly. Stylish, industrial and warm homely elements alternate in the interior. 


The design is inspired by the industrial and rural character of the surroundings of the building along Schipholweg. Industrial elements such as unfinished concrete and warm natural elements such as wooden doors alternate.

Extra comfort. Two separate areas have been designed for the bathroom and toilet. Very pleasant in case several people stay in the apartment.

Different group size? Apartments have been designed for > 2 persons, where the living room functions as a living-bedroom or 2nd bedroom. In addition, the bathroom and toilet are 2 separate areas, which offers extra comfort for the guests.

Other functioneert in the future? The apartments have their own kitchen, intercom and heating facilities and can easily be converted into independent living units. The residents can use the communal facilities and services, such as a laundry room and communal reception area on the ground floor.
